Luxury Holidays Tanzania

Tanzania’s Game Viewing experiences are widely regarded as some of the best in Africa in three World Heritage Sites – the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti plains and, in the South, the massive untamed Selous Game Reserve. Dominating the border area with Kenya, Mount Kilimanjaro is, at 5895m, the highest point on the continent and treks to the summit are possible with trained guides.

Best Time to Visit

The best wildlife viewing months are June – October, with June and July both offering you the chance to witness ‘the Great Migration’.

Popular Resorts

The best areas for Safari and Game Viewing include Selous Game Reserve, Serengeti National Park, Rungwa Game Reserve, Ruaha National Park and Mahale National Park.

Cuisine

Ugali is considered to be the National dish of Tanzania – it is a dough prepared with maize and corn that is often served with meat/fish in a sauce, accompanied by vegetables. Nyama Choma is another traditional African dish that is enjoyed largely in Tanzania – it literally translates to ‘Grilled Meat’ and this often refers to Goat, Chicken or fish from the BBQ – and is served alongside bananas that have been baked.
