Located in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a small island that is home to people of many different languages and ethnic groups, with some of the clearest waters and whitest sand beaches bordered with surreal landscapes. Indonesia is a place for escapism and adventure with warm temperatures all year round, as well as some great experiences with their unique animals like the Komodo Dragon and the Orangutan.

Best Time to Visit
As Indonesia is part of Asia, the countries gets wet and dry seasons; the best time to visit is between May and September as this is when it is dry and sunny. The wet season is from October to April but the temperatures stay between 20-30 degrees all year round.
Cuisine
The Indonesian cuisine is full of flavour as many of their dishes include a variety of spices and herbs, using fresh ingredients such as fish and grains. Some of their most popular dishes are Satay, Ayam Bakar Taliwang (grilled chicken), Ikan Bakar (grilled fish), Soto Betawi (Jakarta soup) and Nasi Uduk (coconut rice).
History and Culture
Indonesia is a country that is extremely diverse, with many different ethnicities, languages and cultures. Currently, there are many influences from India and Hinduism from when Indonesia was first discovered. It was in 1950 that Indonesia became independent. There is a wide Muslim culture with the largest religion groups being Islam, Hindu, Buddhist and Catholic. They also have a rich architectural legacy that demonstrates their history and the true beauty of Indonesia.
